AI Agents (MCP)

Let Claude, Cursor and other AI agents start builds and read their logs.

Unreal Cloud has an MCP server, so AI agents can work with your builds. Ask your agent to start a build, wait for it, and tell you why it failed.

The server's address is:

https://mcp.unrealcloud.io/mcp

Connect your agent

Claude signs in with your Unreal Cloud account. Other agents use your API key, from your profile page.

In Claude, open Settings → Connectors and click Add custom connector. Name it Unreal Cloud, enter this URL and click Add:

https://mcp.unrealcloud.io/mcp

Sign in with your Unreal Cloud account and allow access.

claude mcp add --transport http unrealcloud https://mcp.unrealcloud.io/mcp --header "apiKey: YOUR_API_KEY"

Add this to ~/.cursor/mcp.json, and set UNREALCLOUD_API_KEY in your environment:

~/.cursor/mcp.json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "unrealcloud": {
      "url": "https://mcp.unrealcloud.io/mcp",
      "headers": { "apiKey": "${env:UNREALCLOUD_API_KEY}" }
    }
  }
}

Add this to .vscode/mcp.json. VS Code asks for your key the first time and stores it securely, so it never ends up in your repository:

.vscode/mcp.json
{
  "inputs": [
    {
      "type": "promptString",
      "id": "unrealcloud-api-key",
      "description": "Unreal Cloud API key",
      "password": true
    }
  ],
  "servers": {
    "unrealcloud": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://mcp.unrealcloud.io/mcp",
      "headers": { "apiKey": "${input:unrealcloud-api-key}" }
    }
  }
}

If you use an API key: your account has only one. If you rotate it, also update it where you already use it, like your Perforce trigger.

What agents can do

ToolWhat it does
list_projectsLists your studios and their projects.
list_presetsLists a project's presets, with platform, engine version and branch.
trigger_buildStarts a build of a manual preset, optionally on another branch or without the cache.
list_buildsLists a project's latest builds, filtered by status, branch or preset.
get_buildGets a build's status, commit, preset and artifacts.
get_build_logsGets the errors from a build's log, or its last lines.
get_artifact_linkGets a temporary download link for a build's artifact.

Agents can't change settings, members, billing or anything else. Starting a build needs an active subscription and uses build minutes, like any other build.

Try it

Once connected, ask your agent things like:

  • "Build the Windows preset of Nine Lives and tell me when it's done."
  • "Why did the last build fail?"
  • "Build my branch feature/inventory and fix the compile errors."
